The KHS Group is presenting a modular system for filling PET bottles at this year's Anuga FoodTec. The system is based on the concept already implemented for glass fillers in 2020 and is also suitable for customers faced with fluctuating market requirements.<\/strong><\/p>

When it comes to the packaging of their products, bottlers today face a variety of economic and ecological challenges. On the one hand, they are subject to increasing time and cost pressure, while on the other hand, the beverage industry is currently the focus of much legislative attention<\/strong> - especially with regard to recycling quotas and CO2<\/sub>-emissions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Against the background of these developments KHS<\/a> offers its customers a wide range of customisable block solutions, particularly for filling PET bottles. A modular, configurable and expandable platform is a new addition to the Dortmund-based system provider's PET filling technology.<\/strong> Consistently implemented for glass fillers in 2020, the machines now also fulfil customer requirements for adaptability and future-proofing for plastic bottles.<\/p>

\u201eNo one can predict which industry trends will be current in five years,\u201c says Manfred H\u00e4rtel, Product Manager Filling at KHS. \u201eFor this reason, we have designed our new platform to be modular so that it can be converted to other beverages or PET containers at any time, depending on market requirements<\/strong>.\u201c This means that individual components can be purchased at a later date and integrated into existing solutions at a manageable cost: \u201eDepending on which filling system a customer chooses, they can react to changing market requirements. Thanks to the modularity of the filling systems, functions and properties can be added easily<\/strong>.\"<\/p>

Numerous design improvements ensure energy savings - from the compact tubular ring bowl to effective servo drives. As the new filler allows filling temperatures of up to 24 degrees Celsius, additional investment and operating costs for energy-intensive cooling technology can be eliminated. In addition, no condensation forms at these temperatures, which would have to be dried using a lot of energy before repackaging in film or cardboard<\/strong>.<\/p>
