Last year, more than 100 million new EPAL Euro pallets were produced for the first time. According to the European Pallet Association e.V., the continuous growth of the EPAL Euro pallet pool continued in 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The record result of 101.3 million new EPAL Euro pallets corresponds to growth of 5.5 per cent compared to the previous year<\/strong> (2020 production: 96.1 million EPAL Euro pallets). A significant increase of 7.6 per cent was also recorded in the repair sector.<\/p>

Particularly noteworthy are the production of EPAL pallet cages, which grew by 66.7 per cent to 288,149 pallet cages.<\/strong> is. The total volume of production and repair of all EPAL load carriers totalled 130.8 million pallets in 2021 (+ 6%).<\/p>

\u201eThe year 2021 was characterised by major challenges. On the one hand, there was high demand for EPAL load carriers as a result of the economic upturn following the expected easing of the coronavirus pandemic. On the other hand, the shortage and significant increase in the price of wood made the situation very difficult for manufacturers and repairers of EPAL Euro pallets. This makes us all the more proud that despite the shortage of wood<\/strong> the production of EPAL Euro pallets could be increased once again. We would like to thank the EPAL licencees and the users of EPAL Euro pallets for this excellent result.\u201c<\/p>

Following the shortage and price increase of wood in spring 2021, there were some concerns that users in industry and trade would not be supplied with sufficient numbers of EPAL Euro pallets, this has not materialised in retrospect<\/strong>. In 2021, the EPAL Euro pallet pool has once again proven to be a reliable partner for industry and trade and their supply chains, ensuring that pallets are available at all times. EPAL<\/a> Euro pallets are guaranteed.<\/p>

\u201eThe great trust that users place in the open EPAL Euro pallet pool is also proof of the importance of EPAL Euro pallets in international goods logistics. In addition to ensuring the efficiency and safety of logistics processes, the use of EPAL Euro pallets also helps users to achieve their sustainability goals. The reuse of EPAL Euro pallets protects wood resources and reduces CO2<\/sub>-emissions through production and transport. The EPAL Euro pallet pool is a prime example of a sustainable circular economy. It is therefore not surprising that the number of participants in the open pallet exchange is growing steadily<\/strong> and this has led to the record result in the production of EPAL Euro pallets.\u201c<\/p>

Whether the record result can be repeated in 2022 is currently difficult to estimate given the considerable impact of the war in Ukraine. However continued growth in the production of EPAL Euro pallets in the first quarter of 2022<\/strong>. Security of supply is therefore still guaranteed.\u00a0<\/p>
