The consortium of PulPac, Nordic barrier coating and OrganoClick has set itself the goal of developing plastic-free and PFAS-free barriers and materials for sophisticated food packaging. To this end, the companies are working on expanding the use of dry moulded fibre and have now received further funding.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The consortium of PulPac<\/a>, Nordic Barrier Coating<\/a> and OrganoClick<\/a> has provided financial support for the further development of 100 per cent bio-based, plastic- and PFAS-free barriers and materials for demanding food packaging applications<\/strong> received. The development project is funded by the Swedish strategic innovation programme BioInnovation, which is supported by the Swedish innovation agency Vinnova.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201eWe are very proud of the breakthroughs we have achieved with our partners as part of BioInnovation. The combined power of OrganoClick's chemistry and scalability, coupled with NBC's dynamic ability to mould specific materials, makes this project a very important one. Dry Molded Fiber revolutionises fibre forming and enables the production of paper packaging without wasting valuable water resources or energy and with a significant CO2 reduction, at a very competitive unit cost. These solutions are plastic-free, biodegradable and recyclable - very important characteristics for our customers.\u201c<\/p>

Following the breakthroughs in 2021, the consortium will continue the project, which focuses on the Integration of commercially scalable, environmentally friendly, water- and\/or grease-resistant barriers<\/strong> that specialise in dry moulded fibre.<\/p>
