Germany's largest airport, Frankfurt Airport, is launching a pilot project with the Recup reusable system - and thus embarking on a journey towards sustainability.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The three-month pilot phase with the reusable system started at the beginning of this month Recup<\/a> at Frankfurt Airport. The airport operator, Fraport AG, and its catering tenants are thus taking a further step towards to less packaging waste and more sustainability<\/strong> at airports.<\/p>

\u201eWith Recup, we want to test the acceptance of an overarching reusable deposit system. We are very happy that we were able to win over all the tenants of Pier A for the project.\u201c<\/p>

Great potential for saving packaging waste at the airport<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

To Almost 20 test stations of the Schengen pier A<\/strong>- directly behind the security checkpoint, operated by Casualfood, SSP Germany and Autogrill Germany, among others, travellers now have the option of choosing a Recup deposit cup instead of a disposable cup when buying a hot drink to go.<\/span><\/p>

You can then hand this in at one of the participating distribution points (directly at Pier A or at over 11,600 partners throughout Germany<\/strong>) back. <\/span><\/p>

\u201eOur common goal is to offer passengers offer a sustainable alternative to disposable cups<\/strong>, to conserve resources, reduce waste and cut waste disposal costs,\u201c says Daniel Gemander.<\/span><\/p>

The pilot phase provides crucial insights into the introduction of a reusable system at airports and can serve as a model for further cooperation projects<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>

\u201eTogether with Fraport as a cooperation partner, we can lay an important foundation for reusable systems at airports with this test phase. The demand for drinks and coffee-to-go is high, and so is the potential for reducing packaging waste.\u201c <\/span><\/p>
