According to a study by Endava, the response to the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated digitalisation by up to ten years for 84% of companies worldwide. Almost all German companies surveyed now rate their level of digitalisation as good or even excellent.<\/strong>

A new study by Endava, a global provider of digital transformation and agile development services, reveals that companies around the world have learnt their lessons from the pandemic and used them as a basis to improve their digital transformation. realigned our approach to the introduction of digital technologies<\/strong>. According to the study, German companies in particular have caught up in the last two years: accordingly, a large majority of respondents (94 per cent) rate their company's performance in the introduction of digital technologies as \u201egood\u201c or \u201eexcellent\u201c. Only Australia, at 95 per cent, achieved a slightly higher score than Germany.<\/p>

The respondents were 1,000 managers and IT decision-makers<\/strong> from Germany, the UK, the Nordic countries, the USA, Australia and Singapore, operating in a wide range of industries.<\/p>

The vast majority of managers surveyed confirmed that the pandemic has exposed problems and weaknesses in their existing technologies. Accordingly, almost nine out of ten companies (87 per cent) had to act to accelerate the introduction of digital solutions and almost all respondents (99 per cent) admitted that they were not sufficiently prepared for the pandemic. Almost two out of five German companies (38 per cent) even had to fundamentally overhaul their technology portfolio<\/strong> - Only in the Nordic countries was this figure even higher (48 per cent).<\/p>

In order to cope with this \u201enew normality\u201c, the companies opted for a fast, iterative approach that utilises short deadlines to overcome immediate challenges<\/strong>, and which has proven to be surprisingly effective. The result: for 84 per cent of companies worldwide (and 85 per cent of German companies), the introduction of digital technologies has been accelerated by up to ten years due to the pandemic.<\/p>
