IFAT starts in Munich on 30 May. The Federal Association of the German Waste, Water and Raw Materials Management Industry will be presenting a special area on plastics and the circular economy together with the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen.<\/strong><\/p>

In addition to recycling companies, manufacturers of plastic packaging will also be showcasing their products in a jointly realised special area on the subject of plastics. Solutions for the reduction of virgin plastic and less CO2<\/sub><\/strong>. Eco design, recyclability and the use of recyclates should take centre stage here.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In order for the transformation of the plastics industry from a linear economy to a circular economy to succeed, all players must work together to make various adjustments.<\/strong> It is not only the exhibiting companies that will provide an insight into precisely this practice under the motto \u201ePlastics - Too precious to waste\u201c. A panel discussion at the BDE<\/a>-The main stand is dedicated to the question \u201eOne million tonnes of recyclate used in plastic packaging - wishful thinking or (soon) reality<\/strong>?\u201c.<\/p>

The successes that have already been achieved and the hurdles that still need to be overcome are discussed. BDE President Peter Kurth<\/strong>, the managing director of the plastics processor P\u00f6ppelmann<\/strong>, Matthias Lesch, Managing Director of Plastics Europe Germany<\/strong>, Ingemar B\u00fchler, and the Managing Director of Interseroh's research and development company, Manica Ulcnik-Krump<\/strong>. The event will be moderated by IK<\/a>-Managing Director and circular economy expert Isabell Schmidt.<\/p>

\u201eThe future belongs to the circular economy, as it will enable us to phase out the use of fossil raw materials. We are delighted to have been invited by the BDE to jointly organise the special plastics area. Because Close cooperation between our sectors is an essential prerequisite for the success of the circular economy<\/strong>\u201e, says Schmidt, looking forward to the trade fair and the talk format in particular. \u201eTrust and cooperation are essential prerequisites for openly and actively tackling the hurdles and problems associated with the use of recyclates.\u201c<\/p>
