9 June is Packaging Day in Germany. Although most people come into contact with different types of packaging every day, the importance of packaging for a product and the supply chain is often overlooked. Aluminium Deutschland therefore wants to draw attention to the role of packaging in our daily supply, especially on this day.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We come into contact with packaging in many different ways every day, and yet it is probably one of the least recognised and most underestimated objects in consumers' daily lives. Packaging ensures the smooth supply of essential foodstuffs, for example, to the population.<\/strong>, safe pharmaceuticals and reliable cosmetics and household products.<\/p>

Packaging is a multi-tasking champion. They not only ensure product protection and necessary information about the packaged product, but they also contribute to the conservation of resources along the entire value chain.<\/strong> and thus contribute to greater climate protection by effectively protecting the resources contained in the packaged product.<\/p>

\u201eIn terms of product protection and resource efficiency, aluminium packaging scores highly thanks to its impressive material properties. They therefore already offer good solutions for those who value sustainable, recyclable packaging and the avoidance of food and product waste.\u201c<\/p>

With a recycling rate of 93.5 per cent, our Aluminium packaging is among the most recycled packaging thanks to an efficient collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure<\/strong> in Germany. Here, the material cycle is as good as closed, and recycling only requires around five per cent of the energy needed to produce primary aluminium.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Aluminium foil with a thickness of just 6 thousandths of a millimetre prevents quality-reducing external influences such as light, gas, moisture and UV radiation. In addition, valuable, quality-preserving components of the filling material cannot be lost. This The quality-preserving effect of the packaging on the packaged product is important in terms of resource efficiency and the avoidance of food waste, for example.<\/strong> cannot be overestimated. On average, only around 3.5 per cent of the climate impact of packaged food is caused by the packaging.<\/p>
