Sidel wants to accelerate the fulfilment of international sustainability goals and has now revised and raised its own targets. The company wants to reduce its emissions by 50 per cent by 2030 - previously the target was 30 per cent.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sidel<\/a> is on track to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its own sites and facilities by 50 per cent by 2030 compared to the 2019 baseline. In 2019, the company began to reduce its Convert 17 production sites worldwide to renewable energy<\/strong> and will complete the process by the end of 2022. The success of this transition has made it possible to revise these targets upwards.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201eI am pleased to say that we have exceeded our own sustainability ambitions and can now set even more stringent targets. By 2030, we will reduce emissions by half across all sites. Importantly, this puts Sidel on the path agreed at the COP26 conference on climate change with actions to limit global warming to at least 1.5 degrees by the end of the century. We are one of the few companies in our sector that have committed to this.\u201c<\/p>

In the past year, the company has built upgrades have been installed, saving more than 1,500 tonnes of CO2<\/sub> saved<\/strong> could be realised. Innovations in the portfolio have reduced the energy consumption of blow moulding machines by 45 per cent and the water consumption of bottle washers by half. At the beginning of 2022, the company introduced Evo-ON, a cloud-based digital platform that customers can use to monitor and optimise the energy consumption of packaging systems.\u00a0<\/p>
