Cornelia Fehlner is the new event director. The trade fair's brand identity has been updated. The topic of \u201eIndustry 4.0\u201c will play a major role at the packaging trade fair.<\/p>\n<p>As early as October 2017 <strong>Cornelia Fehlner<\/strong> the <strong>Event management<\/strong> the FachPack from <strong>Heike Slotta<\/strong> took over the position. The 31-year-old graduate in cultural economics and geography previously worked as a business promoter for the city of Weiden. According to an international survey, 88 per cent of companies expect greater profits through the use of Industry 4.0 technologies, while 50 per cent cite greater flexibility as an advantage. These expectations are supported by a study conducted by the consulting agency McKinsey. Maintenance costs and machine downtimes could be reduced by half through Industry 4.0, while productivity could increase by up to 55 per cent. (Graphic: N\u00fcrnbergMesse GmbH)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At FachPack 2018, visitors will be able to experience innovations from the \u201eIndustry 4.0\u201c sector, primarily in the form of <strong>intelligent packaging<\/strong> for intralogistics and shipping. Amongst other things, packaging is <strong>RFID<\/strong>-chips into the IT environment of production. However, possibilities for production customisation through to the automated production of individual items and the use of smart glasses in production will also be on show. The trade fair will also showcase solutions for the serialisation of packaging for prescription and over-the-counter medicines. In February 2019, the \u201eDelegated Regulation on the <strong>Anti-Counterfeiting Directive<\/strong>\u201c of the European Union came into force. The guarantee of traceability and product safety required by this is a particular challenge for the packaging industry.<\/p>\n<h2>New brand image and revised hall layout<\/h2>\n<p>FachPack has given itself a new look in its regular break year, during which Interpack was organised in D\u00fcsseldorf. The new slogan \u201eTomorrow is made by making\u201c emphasises the innovative strength of the packaging industry. The thematic organisation of the halls has also been revised. In the <strong>Hall plan<\/strong> the \u201ePackaging\u201c and \u201eTechnology\u201c areas are now more clearly organised. In the twelve occupied exhibition halls themselves, thematic focal points are formed.<\/p>\n<p>The FachPack website is also more clearly organised. This is clear from the new \u201eNews\u201c menu item.
