European Bioplastics (EUBP), the association representing the interests of the bioplastics industry in Europe, has elected a new board.<\/p>\n

The EUBP leadership team is led by the new Chairman Stefan Barot (BIOTEC) and supported by the new Vice Chairmen Lars B\u00f6rger (Neste) and Mariagiovanna Vetere (NatureWorks).<\/p>\n

\"Never before has our industry received so much attention. These are crucial times economically and politically, and I am delighted to be able to support our industry in my new role as EUBP Chairman,\" says Stefan Barot.<\/p>

\"Key EU legislation on bioplastics is expected to be adopted by the end of the year and beyond. This is a great opportunity to fully recognise the role of bio-based and compostable plastics in the circular economy. We welcome the European Commission's initiatives to create a clear and reliable policy environment for bioplastics. This is crucial for the continued successful development of our industry. In addition, bioplastics can contribute to achieving the EU's ambitious climate targets, in particular a lower environmental footprint,\" he adds.<\/p>\n
