(BV Glas) has published its CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Roadmap to climate neutrality presented. The Institute for Energy Economics and the Rational Use of Energy (IER) at the University of Stuttgart has now explained climate paths that should lead the glass industry to climate neutrality by 2045.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section data-exad-particle-enable=\"false\" class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-55d1adb elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default exad-parallax-effect-no exad-background-color-change-no exad-glass-effect-no exad-sticky-section-no\" data-id=\"55d1adb\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-2fd6d05 exad-glass-effect-no exad-sticky-section-no\" data-id=\"2fd6d05\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-19f32f8 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"19f32f8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The IER has calculated a total of three scenarios for the glass industry. Whether hydrogen, biogas or electricity, this is the key to climate neutrality,<strong> replace natural gas, which currently accounts for 77 per cent of the final energy mix, in the long term<\/strong>. Conventional melting tanks would have to be replaced by all-electric or hybrid technologies. However, these are not yet available on the market, meaning that a great deal of research and development will be required in the coming years.<\/p><blockquote><p>\"The rapid expansion of the electricity and hydrogen grids is a key task if the decarbonisation of the glass industry is to succeed. This is a sum that cannot be raised alone if companies want to remain globally competitive. The association therefore appealed to politicians to work hard to create the right framework conditions for the industry.<\/p><blockquote><p>\"We need sufficient green electricity, an expansion of the infrastructure and finally a competitive industrial electricity price!
