Packaging manufacturer Berry Superfos now offers some of its plastic food packaging made from recycled PET (rPET), which is equivalent in performance and appearance to containers made from virgin PET.
<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The recycled PET is for thermoformed cups and containers<\/strong> of the CombiPac, CombiRound, SuperLight, Spoon-in-lid and DeliPac series and in the injection stretch blow-moulded PET range<\/strong> of the company.<\/p>

Manufacturing containers from rPET not only reduces the use of virgin materials, but also offers a circular solution, as the rPET container itself can also be recycled<\/strong>, if appropriate systems are in place. The containers also retain the high-quality performance and appearance of containers made exclusively from virgin PET.<\/p>

\u201eIn Europe, PET is one of the most commonly used materials for the production of plastic packaging and is fortunately also recycled on a large scale. Its rigidity and high transparency are valuable advantages. It also offers good barrier protection. All these properties are retained in our rPET packaging solutions, making them suitable for many different types of food.\u201c<\/p>

The introduction of rPET containers is part of the sustainability strategy Impact 2025<\/a> from Berry Global<\/a>, which aims to support customers in achieving their sustainability goals. One of the Impact 2025 goals is, that 100 per cent of the company's FMCG will be reusable, recyclable and\/or compostable by 2025<\/strong> will be. The current share is 86 per cent.<\/p>
