Numerous logos and icons provide consumers with information about recyclability, the proportion of recyclate or the correct separation and disposal of packaging. This does not always lead to greater clarity. To ensure that manufacturers label packaging in a transparent, standardised and understandable way, the Forum Rezyklat and Interseroh+ have produced a guide to the use of logos and icons.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Is the packaging recyclable? How much recyclate was used in its manufacture and how is it best disposed of or separated? The Logos, icons and symbols on packaging educate consumers<\/strong>. But a lot doesn't always help a lot. To ensure that customers can quickly and clearly recognise the relevant information at the point of sale and later when separating their waste, the Forum Recyclate<\/a> in the report published by Interseroh+<\/a> work package \"Target image logos\/icons\/symbols on packaging\", which was led by Guidelines for labelling in terms of recyclability, use of recyclate and disposal and separation instructions<\/strong> developed.<\/p>

It shows which criteria manufacturers should apply when selecting a logo. The essential The criteria are comprehensibility, reliability, general accessibility, transparency and practicable use<\/strong>.<\/p>

The Forum Rezyklat aims to provide participants in the packaging value chain, interested companies and political stakeholders with a Orientation for the use of logos, icons and symbols<\/strong> give. This improved transparency is intended to harmonised and, as far as possible, uniform communication with end consumers<\/strong> lead.<\/p>

In the first half of 2022, the experts at Forum Rezyklat first looked at the labelling materials currently available and in use by topic. They then analysed various developed generally applicable and topic-specific criteria<\/strong>which are decisive for successful communication of the topics using packaging logos and icons. The collected logos were evaluated by the members of the Forum Rezyklat on the basis of these criteria.<\/p>

The appropriately designed instructions on the packaging are intended to consumers about whether they are processed in the recycling process after use and whether new packaging or products can be made from them again.<\/strong> can be recycled. They also learn that recyclates were used in their production and can dispose of them in the best possible way or separate their components from each other and thus recycle them appropriately.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
