Semodia, Pipe Predict and Lumatix Biotech - these are the winners of the Achema Start-up Award. They impressed the jury with their solutions for \"Plug and Produce\" in modular systems, predictive maintenance in pipework and the insulation of antibodies. The winners will each receive 10,000 euros.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The thematic breadth of the winners reflects this, the variety of solutions the process industry has to offer for a wide range of issues<\/strong>said Andreas F\u00f6rster, Managing Director of Dechema, at the award ceremony in Frankfurt. \"Start-ups play a very important role here with their innovative strength.\"<\/p>

In order to strengthen this, Dechema, High-Tech Gr\u00fcnderfonds and Business Angels Frankfurt RheinMain, with the support of premium partner Clariant, had already organised the Achema Founder Award for the third time<\/strong>. A jury of experts selected 10 finalists from over 30 applications, including from abroad for the first time, to compete at the Achema<\/a> in a separate session and in the Start-up Area.<\/p>

Dr Nikolaus Raupp from High Tech Gr\u00fcnderfonds highlighted the importance of disruptive innovation by start-ups in particular. for a faster transition to a sustainable circular economy<\/strong> in the foreground. Companies that develop solutions for this were represented among the finalists, as were digitalisation topics and platforms for new active pharmaceutical ingredients.<\/p>

Joachim Reinhardt from Business Angels FrankfurtRheinMain emphasised this diversity and the high quality of the finalists overall. He also emphasised the importance of contacts for young companies; Achema offers the finalists an excellent platform<\/strong> for visibility and networking.\u00a0<\/p>

The three award winners were characterised both by innovative ideas<\/strong>The winners of the competition were not only the companies that can achieve a wide reach in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and solve current challenges, but also the solid business plans that were put through their paces by the experts during the competition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Software solution for the modular process industry<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Semodia<\/a> offers software solutions for the modular process industry. Modular systems are seen as a concept of the future. But can existing equipment also be integrated into modular landscapes? The start-up Semodia promises just that - on the basis of standardised module type packages.<\/strong> Modular systems that can be can be rearranged and scaled as required<\/strong>are one way to achieve greater flexibility. However, very few laboratories and companies can afford to set up a completely new system.\u00a0<\/p>

\"We can equip existing modules such as temperature control units so that they can be integrated into the control system afterwards using Plug & Produce. This saves a lot of time and manual work.\"<\/p>

Henry Bloch<\/strong>Managing Director and co-founder of Semodia GmbH<\/p><\/blockquote>

The approach is based on the Module Type Package. An MTP contains all the information required to connect a component to other components<\/strong> - similar to a printer driver in the office. \"The founders of Semodia developed the Module Type Package in their research and drove its standardisation forward. However, to ensure that all stakeholders in the process industry can use the Module Type Package, we have developed a product range based around this standard.\"<\/p>

Semodia thus closes a gap<\/strong>This is because until now, control systems from different manufacturers could not be used together within one system. The founders offer their solutions for laboratories as well as for technical centres and production facilities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Achema Founder Award Winner Lumatix Biotech<\/strong>\u00a0is working to increase the availability and affordability of antibodies by developing an effective isolation method based on a light-controlled affinity matrix. It is intended to replace the classic enrichment method using protein A chromatography.\u00a0<\/p>

And the young company PipePredict <\/strong>offers a predictive maintenance tool for reducing energy and media losses in pipe networks (water, district heating, chemicals). Existing sensor data is analysed using a digital twin and machine learning algorithms to prevent pipe bursts.<\/p>
