Following a successful pilot phase in three IKEA stores, the company is now introducing the Recup\/Rebowl reusable system in all 54 shops in Germany. The aim is to reduce waste in restaurants, Swedish bistros and staff canteens and encourage people to live more sustainably.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

IKEA<\/a> Germany leads the nationwide Rcup\/Rebowl<\/a>-reusable system for catering in IKEA restaurants, Swedish bistros and staff restaurants. Following the successful completion of the pilot phases in three stores in Cologne-Godorf, D\u00fcsseldorf and Ulm, we are now launching all 54 stores with Germany's largest reusable system and offer drinks and food in sustainable to-go containers<\/strong> to.<\/p>

The system works simply with a deposit: Customers pay a 1 euro deposit when buying a drink in the Recup and a 5 euro deposit for food in the Rebowl. After enjoying the drinks and food, the Empty containers can be returned to almost 13,000 partners throughout Germany and the deposit will be refunded<\/strong>. There are also deposit machines in the furniture stores where recups can be easily returned.<\/p>

\u201eIn the IKEA stores in Cologne-Godorf, D\u00fcsseldorf and Ulm, we have already tested the RECUP system in recent months and have not only implemented a sustainable and smart solution, but together with our customers and employees, we have already saved 18,000 disposable beverage cups in this period alone. That's already a considerable number and we look forward to multiplying this in the future and thus saving even more food waste and disposable waste.\u201c<\/p>
