Coveris was honoured with the Austrian Green Packaging Star Award in the \u201eEnvironmentally friendly corporate strategy\u201c category for its sustainability initiative. The company focusses on conserving resources and was also among the finalists with two of its packaging technologies.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The \u201eNo Waste\u201c vision of Coveris<\/a> won the prestigious Green Packaging Star Award in the \u201eEnvironmentally friendly corporate strategy\u201c category. The packaging manufacturer aims to achieve this, Avoid product waste, packaging waste and production waste - in order to conserve resources extensively<\/strong>. At product level, the company already produces Packaging that contains a certain proportion of old, recycled materials, thinner packaging to save material or solutions that are easier to recycle<\/strong> from monomaterials. Another goal is to operate all production plants with renewable energy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The company also uses innovative packaging solutions to reduce CO2<\/sub>-footprint. Two of these packaging technologies were also among the finalists for this year's Green Packaging Star Award: PaperBarrier Seal and MonoFlex. The packaging manufacturer entered the PaperBarrier Seal innovation in the Environmentally Friendly Product category. The PaperBarrier Seal pouch was launched on the market in 2021 and is a Fully recyclable high-performance packaging that provides a barrier layer against moisture, mineral oil, oxygen and grease<\/strong> offers.<\/p>

In order to counteract the recycling problem of multi-layer packaging<\/strong>, the packaging company developed the MonoFlex product line. This mono-material packaging is fully recyclable without any loss of quality. With this product innovation, the company was among the finalists in the food protection solution category.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201eIt's great that our sustainability strategy has won. We are convinced that we are making an important contribution to climate protection. The aim of our No Waste Vision is to avoid product, packaging and operational waste. To achieve this, we are involving the entire Coveris organisation in its implementation - from production and the Group-wide Green Teams to management level and the Executive Board. The award we received and the fact that two other Coveris products were among the finalists makes us very proud. Above all, this is an honour for our employees.
