Together with Tagaddod, SIG is launching a project in Egypt to recycle used beverage cartons. With \u201eRecycle for Good\u201c, households and the catering industry can use a mobile app to arrange the collection of beverage cartons and collect rewards.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Starts in Egypt SIG<\/a> now \u201eRecycle for Good\u201c, a new recycling initiative that makes it possible, to collect used beverage cartons directly from households and the catering trade with the help of technological solutions<\/strong>. This joint initiative with Tagaddod is the first of its kind on the Egyptian market. Consumers can use a mobile app to arrange for used beverage cartons to be collected from their homes or workplaces and receive rewards for doing so. The aim of the project is to incentivise the recycling of used beverage cartons<\/strong>, to ensure that high-quality material resources remain in circulation while helping local communities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tagaddod will be in charge of collecting the cardboard packaging. It is the first company in Egypt to offer direct collection of waste from households and the food industry with the help of technology-based solutions<\/strong>. The app enables consumers and companies in the food industry to have used beverage cartons collected in return for a premium. The initiative utilises the existing logistics network of Tagaddod and the Green Pan brand to collect the beverage cartons.<\/p>

Recycling beverage cartons keeps high-quality materials in circulation for longer. All materials used to manufacture SIG carton packs - raw cartonboard, aluminium and polyethylene - can be recycled as valuable resources and used to manufacture new products. Currently, only around 60 per cent of waste generated in Egypt each year is collected, and less than 20 per cent of these are properly disposed of or recycled<\/strong>. As there is no waste separation at household level, there is a huge need for collection initiatives like this one.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
