Boxlab Services and Herma want to work together to make the procurement and use of hazardous goods labels safer, simpler, cheaper, faster and more environmentally friendly. Despite their safety-relevant function, hazardous goods labels are still a constant source of uncertainty in many companies. This concerns questions about the The current layouts, high procurement and storage costs, their material properties, for example in terms of seawater resistance, and greater sustainability.<\/strong> Boxlab Services, a service provider and process consultant in the fields of hazardous goods labelling and packaging materials, and the self-adhesive specialist Herma have now launched a unique cooperation to make the procurement and use of hazardous goods labels safer, simpler, cheaper, faster and more environmentally friendly across all transport routes. It comprises All types of dangerous goods labels, i.e. hazard labels, placards and ADR warning signs<\/strong>. Contrary to the current market standard minimum order quantities in the four or five-digit range per type, such products are available within the co-operation between Boxlab Services and Herma from quantities as low as 1, within 24 hours throughout Europe.<\/p>

This eliminates the need for time-consuming stockpiling of different variants and their subsequent disposal due to outdated validity or expired shelf life. \u201eBased on our experience in the market to date, we can reduce procurement and process costs by up to 50 per cent with our approach<\/strong>\u201c, promises Mischa Feig, Managing Director and co-founder of Boxlab Services. The labels are supplied on individual sheets or on a roll. Boxlab Services guarantees legal certainty with regard to the current status of the legally prescribed layouts for all transport routes (ADR, RID, IATA or IMDG), which is particularly important with regard to possible fines for incorrect labelling.<\/p>

Thanks to our own adhesive material development and production as well as decades of labelling experience in the chemical sector within the co-operation, Herma concentrates on the selection of suitable material combinations<\/strong> in accordance with the applicable regulations and their printing in large quantities with the highest quality.<\/p>

\u201eHazardous goods labels must adhere securely to a wide variety of containers such as drums, barrels, canisters, containers, IBCs, big bags and bottles, but also to stretched pallets - and therefore also to a variety of surface materials.\u201c<\/p>

Depending on the application Resistance to chemicals such as acids, alkalis and solvents, dirt, grease and oil, environmental influences such as heat, moisture, cold and UV exposure as well as seawater resistance<\/strong> required. \u201eThe right choice of robust, flexible and printable label films, pressure-sensitive adhesives with a wide temperature range and suitability for different surfaces, as well as light-resistant printing inks that fulfil the seawater resistance requirements of British Standard BS5609 Section 3, is extremely important.\u201c<\/p>

Boxlab Services, which maintains its own warehouse, takes care of the operational handling, i.e. the ordering and shipping process as well as the packaging and, if necessary, the subsequent individualisation of the hazardous goods labels. \u201eThe individual imprint in our certified printers with the corresponding ink in combination with Herma materials also continues to fulfil the seawater resistance BS5609 Section 3,\u201c emphasises Mischa Feig from Boxlab Services. \u201eThis is particularly important to us, to find the best possible solution for each individual customer,<\/strong> for example by combining different motifs in one label.\u201c<\/p>

To increase safety for users, Boxlab Services can accompany the entire labelling process on request, for example with a bio-cleaner that optimally prepares surfaces for hazardous goods labels and with a special scraper for safe subsequent removal.<\/p>

\u201eIn many companies, the process steps for labelling hazardous goods are still unsatisfactory. We are all the more pleased that, together with Herma, we can now offer well thought-out, consistently safe and innovative solutions right from the start, even for very small requirements.\u201c<\/p>
