SML and Braskem have joined forces to produce films from PCR (post-consumer recyclate) and will be showcasing the results of the partnership at K 2022. The use of PCR can save resources and avoid waste.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On the K 2022<\/a> in D\u00fcsseldorf shows Braskem <\/a>within the framework of a co-operation Use of recycled raw materials in film production<\/strong>. In collaboration with machine manufacturer SML, the company will be demonstrating the performance of the new solution, which combines sophisticated technology for film production with PCR. Production will be demonstrated live on the largest machine at the entire trade fair. The two companies have already been working together successfully for several years on joint solutions for the production of high-quality films. \u00a0<\/p>

\u201eWe have pooled our potential and capacities in order to produce films in a market-driven quality that have the PCR content required by brand manufacturers and regulators. At first, a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution seemed very difficult - especially when it came to miniaturised products. After two years of close collaboration with Braskem and countless steps of work, we can now offer an efficient solution with PCR in a quality that meets consumer demands in every respect.\u201d<\/p>

What may seem rather unspectacular at first glance is actually a milestone on the road to greater sustainability in plastics production. Until now, it has been a challenge for companies to present a viable solution for film production that is 30 per cent PCR and does not compromise on quality in any way.<\/strong> makes. The films produced by SML machines with a high proportion of recycled material are convincing in terms of stretchability, tear resistance and mechanical properties, among other things<\/strong>. This is made possible by Wenew DL085C - this raw material ensures the required transparency of the product as well as the necessary robustness and flexibility, which is also indispensable in the packaging process itself - here in the beverage industry.<\/p>
