The packaging experts at Sch\u00fctz have developed the Ecobulk SX-D for maximum protection against leaks, even under extreme conditions. To raise the safety standard even further, the container model has a closed, fire-resistant steel outer shell.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The filler opening and the extraction bungs are protected by steel caps, which can now be opened and closed easily and without tools using bayonet catches. The SX-D Awarded the \"FM Approved\" label by the industrial property insurance company FM Global<\/strong>.<\/p>

The IBC has become the preferred packaging solution in many industrial and application areas. In order to optimise its use for demanding filling products and applications, the engineers at Sch\u00fctz are constantly working on new solutions. One example is the SX-D. While at first glance the new container's steel casing makes it similar to long-established Sch\u00fctz solutions for use in hazardous areas, the SX-D a considerable degree of additional security<\/strong>This is because the steel shell was completely closed, flanged and welded to the steel floor pan.<\/p>

The steel outer shell thus forms an additional liquid-tight container that is practically as an integrated drip tray in the event of damage to the HDPE inner container<\/strong> serves. If, for example, the inner plastic container melts due to the heat caused by a fire, the product is effectively prevented from escaping through the outer steel shell. This means that in this IBC model even sensitive products can be filled without any problems<\/strong>for which smaller containers with a lower volume, such as steel drums, have mostly been used to date.<\/p>

The design of the SX-D offers increased protection in the event of fire<\/strong>which is why this IBC is also suitable for the storage of flammable substances in accordance with the NFPA 30 code. Its packaging safety has been confirmed by independent institutions: The SX-D has been tested and certified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. as well as being the only combination IBC to date to be approved by the US insurance company FM Global Group. The prerequisite for the \"FM Approved\" award is the passing of a particularly demanding fire test and a comprehensive production audit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

To ensure double protection, the SX-D does not have the classic outlet fitting at the front of the container. Instead, the filling material is removed by means of a pump connection via the contactor dip tube<\/strong>which is integrated into the front of the two bungs on the top of the container. This position allows the discharge pipe to reach the lowest point of the inner container, which ensures excellent emptying of residues.<\/p>

The closed removal system offers an additional advantage, that there is no contact with the filling product<\/strong> - not even in the form of any escaping vapours. The steel caps, which protect both the bungs and the filler opening of the IBC during transport and storage, can be removed and fitted quickly and without tools using a bayonet lock.<\/p>

The double-walled design and the closed extraction system make the SX-D the recommended choice for all fillers and applications with special safety requirements<\/strong>. The container is therefore also suitable for demanding class 6.1 hazardous goods, such as toluene diisocyanate (TDI). In addition to meeting the highest fire protection standards, the new Sch\u00fctz IBC can also be used for general risk minimisation - for example when used directly in the production line.<\/p>
