From 8 to 10 November, the automation industry came together at SPS in Nuremberg. After the trade fair was cancelled in the last two years due to the pandemic, we were all the more excited to meet again in person this year.<\/strong><\/p>

Numerous trade visitors from all over the world streamed through the entrances to N\u00fcrnbergMesse on the first day of the fair, punctually at 9 a.m., to find out about the latest automation developments and trends from around 1,000 exhibitors on 112,000 square metres of exhibition space. Participants took the opportunity to engage in personal and intensive dialogue, discuss technological advances, cultivate relationships and establish new contacts.<\/strong> A total of almost 44,000 visitors attended the restart of the trade fair over the three days.<\/p>

\u201eThe joy of seeing each other again was clearly noticeable on all sides, the discussions were open and cordial and the atmosphere in the exhibition halls was unrivalled. You could clearly feel how the PLC community missed this lively exchange and immersion in the world of automation.<\/strong> We are delighted that we have been able to inspire the industry again with the restart of SPS. The trade fair is the place where the foundations are laid for many future projects in automation,\u201c says Martin Roschkowski, President of Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.<\/p>

The lecture programme focused on topics that are important for the automation industry, including Sustainability in automation, safety and security as well as New logistic methods and robotic integration<\/strong>. In addition to highly qualified panel discussions and focussed specialist contributions, visitors had the opportunity to attend the event on Wednesday morning, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus S\u00f6der at the digital talk<\/strong>. Topics discussed included the future of digitalisation and the importance of trade fairs for Germany as a business location. The live broadcast on the \u201eSPS on air\u201c platform made it possible to follow the highlight from any location. The recording is still available on demand to registered participants.<\/p>

Even before the trade fair, the digital pre-heat event had already given a first taste of this year's range of exhibitors. The SPS 2022 concept gave trade visitors the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about exhibiting companies and their products in advance via the \u201eSPS on air\u201c platform<\/strong>, to arrange on-site appointments or to enter into digital dialogue in the run-up to the trade fair. During the trade fair, the Technology Stage powered by VMDA\/ZVEI in Hall 3 was streamed live.<\/strong> The platform is accessible until 15 November 2022.<\/p>
