The mechanical engineering company Bobst is launching a new training concept for machine operators, technicians and managers. The aim is to support customers in countering the ongoing shortage of skilled labour.<\/strong><\/p>

With a comprehensive new training concept, Bobst Meerbusch aims to provide its customers with a wide range of options to proactively counter the shortage of skilled labour in the folding carton and corrugated board industry. The programme ranges from process training for machine operators and training courses on machine maintenance (electrical and mechanical) to management seminars for executives.<\/strong> Customers can also book individual training programmes. These include vision training courses for newcomers with no prior knowledge, expert training courses for machine operators with basic knowledge, master training courses for experienced machine operators and exam preparation for trainees.<\/p>

According to the company, the training courses, which last several days, cover printing and die-cutting lines, flatbed die-cutters, folding carton gluers and inliners - including courses specifically on flexographic printing technology in the production of corrugated cardboard packaging. All training courses are currently held on site at the customer's premises<\/strong> - at fixed daily rates including travelling expenses. In addition, training sessions on used flatbed die-cutters and folder-gluers will be held at the Bobst Campus Meerbusch in future.<\/p>

\u201eThe shortage of skilled labour has reached critical proportions in our industry. For some customers, it has already meant that they are unable to fully utilise the productivity and availability of our machines and that cleaning and maintenance conditions are deteriorating. This is where our new education and training programmes come in.<\/strong> We developed them in close cooperation with customers and the FFI folding carton association. This means that they meet the specific needs of the industry,\u201c says Bobst Meerbusch Managing Director Dirk Corsten.<\/p>
