France is leading the way: In future, fruit and vegetables may no longer be sold in plastic packaging. For more perishable varieties such as tomatoes, grapes and beans, this will apply from mid-2023; for sprouts and berries, the law will come into force from mid-2026. Multivac will therefore be focusing in particular on its sustainable packaging concepts at Fruit Logistica from 8 to 10 February 2023. <\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Presented on more than 250 square metres Multivac<\/a> sustainable packaging solutions for various fresh products. The company expects a high level of visitor interest, particularly with regard to on the PaperBoard portfolio and packaging concepts that are characterised by high material efficiency and recyclability<\/strong> and at the same time extend the shelf life of the food.<\/p>

The exhibits on the stand include the T 305 traysealer, a system for the Entry into fully automatic tray packaging<\/strong> and the packaging of smaller batches, and a line whose core element is the high-performance TX 710 traysealer for large batches.<\/p>

The cellulose tray is biodegradable and therefore contributes to the sustainability of the solution. A Baseline L 301 labeller is also integrated into the packaging line, which labels the trays on the top with variable data, such as the best-before date.<\/strong> The integration of the labeller allows the automation of many operating tasks, such as loading the print layout or the parameter settings of the labeller. This data can be saved directly in the product recipes of the TX.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Single-variety packaging in vogue<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

With the flexible L 310 Top Wrap conveyor belt labeller, which can be seen as a stand-alone model at Fruit Logistica for selected products such as tomatoes and berries, Multivac is responding to the new trend towards unmixed packaging made of paper and cardboard.<\/strong> These are gradually replacing not only the previous plastic trays, but also the material-intensive, albeit recyclable, cardboard sleeves. If fruit or vegetables are not packaged in a modified atmosphere or airtight in a vacuum, the trays can be easily and attractively sealed with labels and labelled at the same time.<\/p>

The variant shown in Berlin can also be used to implement the two processes of top wrap, i.e. labelling over three sides, and top close, i.e. labelling only on the top of the pack. The High flexibility of self-adhesive labels in terms of material thickness and shape<\/strong> offers a wide range of options for product presentation. Punch-outs or adhesive-free zones are possible to avoid contact with the product.<\/p>

The trade fair appearance will be rounded off with a presentation by Christian Zimmermann (Project Manager Market Intelligence & Applications) on the Tech Stage on 9 February, 1.45 to 2.30 pm.
