Mondi has supported Noel Alimentaria in reducing the plastic content of its packaging for fresh food. Now 80 per cent paper is used for trays for products such as cold cuts and burgers.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mondi<\/a> has worked closely with Noel Alimentaria to achieve the best possible Packaging solution for its range of plant-based and animal-based foods<\/strong> to find. Thanks to the collaboration, Noel Alimentaria decided in favour of the Paper-based PerFORMing tray<\/strong>, to package its rebranded Verday range of plant-based cold cuts and vegetarian burgers. Verday is used by Marks and Spencer for its Plant Kitchen range in the UK and supplied to the Nordic ham and sausage markets.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As the trays are mouldable, they can be adapted to a range of food products of different sizes. And all this with a high symmetrical stretch for uniform mouldability, ideal for flat food trays. PerFORMing offers a Strong barrier protection against moisture and oxygen<\/strong> and keeps the food fresh throughout the storage and distribution process. The trays are 80 per cent paper compared to the industry standard where they are 100 per cent plastic, meaning that the plastic content of the trays has been greatly reduced. The Paper tray is designed for recycling<\/strong> and has passed the recyclability tests of the German Institute PTS<\/a> (Papiertechnische Stiftung, method RH:021\/97).<\/p>
