The service life of a machine can also contribute to the sustainability balance. With this in mind, the mechanical engineering company August Steinmeyer is working on making its ball screw drives more and more durable.<\/strong><\/p>

The more precisely ball screws are manufactured, the more durable they are. August Steinmeyer GmbH is committed to this claim. \u201eWe promote progress and strive to minimise the primary energy consumption of our products,\u201c says Wolfgang Kl\u00f6blen, Head of Development at the Swabian mechanical engineering company. \u201eOur goal - more Sustainability in mechanical engineering and the responsible use of resources<\/strong>.\u201c The company continuously realises customer-specific developments and carries out service life tests in order to make the best possible use of compact installation spaces and achieve a high level of reliability.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The company's nut series with ETA-Plus technology ensures optimum power transmission from the motor to the carriage: \u201eThis not only significantly reduces wear on precision ball screws and extends their service life,\u201c says Kl\u00f6blen. \u201eThis also reduces energy consumption in the application by up to 50 per cent<\/strong>.\u201c This is made possible by the reduced friction, increased rigidity and increased efficiency. A positive side effect is the reduced heating, which makes additional cooling superfluous, and the noise-reducing effect of the ETA Plus process.<\/p>

August Steinmeyer has also developed special wipers for its ball screw drives, which guarantee maximum reliability with a minimum of lubricants. Should the cover fail, for example, the use of double wipers minimises the likelihood of the ball screw failing.<\/strong><\/p>
