At interpack, automation company Pilz will be showcasing future-proof technologies for greater product safety in packaging automation. The focus is on solutions and products for primary, secondary and final packaging from the fields of sensor technology, control technology, operation and monitoring as well as networks - with the SecurityBridge industrial firewall. <\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Intelligent automation concepts that not only make packaging lines safer, but also easier to operate, include the secure supply of cardboard boxes for secondary packaging.<\/strong> Designed for medium-sized and smaller machines, the T\u00dcV-S\u00dcD-certified solution offers a choice of two safety controllers as evaluation units - the small controller PNOZmulti 2 for applications where configuration is carried out using a software tool, and the modular safety relay myPNOZ for batch size 1 feed solutions.<\/p>

Industry 4.0 has arrived in the packaging industry. In addition to the smart factory, intelligent networking and customising are key topics. This requires Efficient automation and safety concepts that include safety and industrial security<\/strong> and thus also guarantee product safety. For these presents Mushroom<\/a> at interpack will be presenting its solutions for Identification and Access Management (I.A.M.) for implementing comprehensive access management on packaging machines and in machine parks.<\/p>

As a comprehensive solution for secure access management, I.A.M. also enables secure operating mode selection: In D\u00fcsseldorf, the automation company has the efficient digital maintenance protection \u201eKey-in-pocket\u201c with it, which is based on the access authorisation system PITreader and Pilz control technology. It prevents the unplanned restart of machines while people are in the danger zone for maintenance work.<\/strong> Before entering the system, one or more authorised operators authenticate themselves with their personal transponders and an individual security ID is assigned, which is stored centrally in the security control system. This protects the machine against manipulation and the operator against unwanted restarting.<\/p>

The networking of IT and OT (Operational Technology) makes additional protection of packaging machines - e.g. filling lines - necessary. Pilz has the following in its trade fair luggage the SecurityBridge firewall, which protects control networks against manipulation by unauthorised access.<\/strong> It monitors the data traffic between the PC and the controller and reports unauthorised changes to the controller project. In this way, it protects downstream control systems from network-based attacks and unauthorised access. This guarantees a high level of product security, as especially in the pharmaceutical and food packaging sectors<\/strong> is required.<\/p>
