It is not always clear to consumers at first glance which seal and which label stands for what. The Agency for Renewable Resources, together with the Institute for Ecological Economy Research, has now published an online quality mark finder.<\/strong><\/p>

\u201eUmweltzeichen Kompakt\u201c lists quality labels for various product groups which, on the one hand, take renewable raw materials into account in their catalogue of criteria and, on the other hand, fulfil the legal requirements for use in public tenders. They can therefore be used as proof of quality, e.g. for desired environmental standards<\/strong>.<\/p>

The search tool is primarily an offer for employees in authorities and public institutions<\/strong>, but is also aimed at end consumers and anyone interested in environmentally friendly shopping.<\/p>

The labels listed in the FNR's Quality Label Finder focus specifically on environmental aspects and the options for procuring products made from renewable, plant-based materials<\/strong> - in the sense of a future bioeconomy. The bioeconomy aims to achieve a fundamental change from a fossil-based economy to a sustainable economy through the utilisation of bio-based resources.<\/p>
