LyondellBasell and EEW Energy from Waste have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together on waste sorting, recovery and recycling of plastics from incineration waste streams.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The declaration of intent from LyondellBasell<\/a> and EEW includes the exploration of a potential long-term strategic partnership for the recovery and recycling of plastics from incineration waste streams<\/strong>. This proposed collaboration would potentially include the construction of pre-sorting facilities for waste in or near EEW incineration plants to remove plastics from waste streams destined for incineration. Investments in advanced sorting facilities to further sort and refine the removed plastics are also being considered. This collaboration supports LyondellBasell's new strategy of investing in a invest in advanced sorting infrastructure to produce raw materials from plastic waste<\/strong>, to expand the circular economy and low-carbon solutions business area and achieve the targeted value creation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201eCollaborations across the value chain are part of our strategy and are becoming increasingly necessary to free plastic waste from sources that do not currently end up in recycling. The materials from these sorting plants would not only support our existing mechanical recycling plants in the Netherlands and a potential advanced recycling plant in Germany, but also allow us to optimise waste streams and create more added value.\u201c<\/p>
