Paper is becoming increasingly popular as a packaging material. Austrian tube expert Hoffmann Neopac now offers a product with a paper content of 80 per cent: the PaperX tube.<\/strong><\/p>

The Swiss company Hoffmann Neopac<\/a> now has a fibre-based tube in its portfolio. The PaperX tube consists of an ultra-thin, fibre-based laminate with 80 percent paper content and reduces the use of plastic and CO2<\/sub>-footprint.<\/strong> The tubes are designed for organic and natural body care and cosmetic products and, according to the company, contain 46 per cent less plastic than conventional tubes, which reduces CO2<\/sub>-emissions by 24 per cent.<\/p>

Potential applications for the new PaperX tube from Neopac include sunscreen lotions, body and face creams and toothpaste. The tubes, which are available with fliptop closures, are available in diameters between 35 and 50 millimetres and can hold products with a volume of 40 to 250 millilitres. Whereas previous generations of paper tubes had significant limitations in the filling and sealing process, PaperX tubes can be easily filled and sealed on standard tube filling machines<\/strong>.<\/p>

PaperX tubes fall into the growing category of paper\/plastic composite packaging, the recycling of which has yet to be defined in the various countries. The authorities responsible for recycling are currently endeavouring to establish suitable recycling streams for this new type of sustainable packaging.<\/strong><\/p>
