At interpack, a PP film with a PVOH barrier layer from Jindal Films has now been awarded the \"Made for Recycling\" seal.<\/strong> Interseroh+ thus certifies that the film is perfectly recyclable.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Plastic films with an effective barrier are indispensable for protecting sensitive foodstuffs. Due to the current shortage of raw materials, packaging manufacturers are currently also increasingly focussing on oxygen barriers made from polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH)<\/strong>. According to the minimum standard of the Central Agency Packaging Register Foundation (ZSVR), PVOH has so far been classed as \"incompatible for recycling\".<\/p>

An analysis carried out by Interseroh+ on behalf of the film manufacturer Jindal Films Europe and the film processor Petroplast has now shown: The PP film with PVOH barrier layer (type BICOR MB866) from Jindal Films does not cause any problems in recycling<\/strong>.<\/p>

At the interpack trade fair in D\u00fcsseldorf, the recycling alliance Interseroh+ awarded the \"Made for Recycling\" seal to its customer Jindal Films. The seal recognises the recyclability of innovative materials<\/strong>here the PP film with PVOH barrier layer BICOR MB866 BOPP.<\/p>

The scientific evaluation methodology \"Made for Recycling\" was developed by Interseroh+ together with the bifa environmental institute and confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV.<\/strong> The Plastics Competence Centre in Maribor, Slovenia, received international accreditation in 2020 (ISO\/IEC 17025:2017) - as the only recognised research institution in the EU,<\/strong> which specialises in the development and analysis of recycled plastics. Here, the experts not only analyse the materials and design of the packaging, but also the practical sortability and recyclability.<\/p>
