Tosca has introduced a new life cycle analysis (LCA) tool. With this tool, companies can select the most sustainable type of IBC for liquids to reduce the environmental impact of transporting bulk liquids. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The LCA tool uses the Compass platform developed by Trayak and is recommended by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. The tool provides comprehensive data on the impact of switching from existing solutions to foldable IBCs from Tosca over the entire life cycle.<\/p>\n

The LCA data provided by the tool illustrates how Tosca's foldable reusable IBCs outperform competing load carriers on the market in terms of environmental performance over short, medium and long distances. Sch\u00fctz brand containers, stainless steel containers, steel drums and stackable plastic drums were analysed.<\/p>

The indicators evaluated in the analysis include fossil fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption. The analysis showed that Tosca's solution has a better environmental footprint than other products in most cases. This advantage is particularly pronounced for longer return journeys. Here, the foldable IBCs from Tosca clearly outperform the rigid IBCs. For example, a standard lorry can transport up to 182 empty collapsible IBCs, replacing more than 3 lorries that would be required to transport rigid bulk containers of a similar capacity.<\/p>\n

Tosca's reusable packaging solutions, including foldable IBCs, are part of a pooling model that allows customers to share reusable containers.<\/p>
