Coveris has opened a second site with a modern recycling plant in Louth, UK. The plant is used to recycle printed polyethylene film from industrial waste and utilises a deinking process.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

ReCover Louth makes it possible, to reuse printed PE packaging film from industrial waste (PIW)<\/strong> and supports Coveris\u201a \u2018No Waste' vision and overall sustainability efforts in the packaging sector in the UK and the European Union. The specialised ReCover facility is located at the Coveris Louth PE extrusion and conversion plant and utilises a Deinking process in which the printing inks are removed from the printed packaging film waste.<\/strong> be made. The expansion of ReCover Louth's capacities over the last two years has resulted in the construction of a recycling plant. This results in considerable benefits for the environment, as fewer new raw materials are required, waste is avoided and the plastic remains part of a closed cycle.\u00a0<\/p>

The facility also includes a fully equipped ReCover laboratory, which supports the innovation process, quality management and quality control.<\/strong> of the ReGen recyclate and its use in the extrusion of Coveris films with recycled content. With the development and opening of the deinking recycling plant, ReCover Louth is now able to process printed film waste into ReGen granulate and use it in the extrusion of Coveris films with recycled content. high-performance packaging for the non-food sector, including beverage shrink films and hygienic paper wrapping,<\/strong> to recycle. \u00a0<\/p>

The annual production capacity is 5,000 tonnes<\/strong> ReGen granulate and ReCover Louth use the Coveris Group's own printed production waste, customer production waste and suitable industrial waste from the packaging industry. The ReGen granulate is first used to produce the Group's demand for recycled content in production covered<\/strong>. This is in line with the UK Plastic Packaging Tax and also supports the aims of the UK Plastic Pact, which aims to keep plastic out of nature and in the circular economy for longer.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The new ReCover Louth recycling plant is already the second site in Coveris' closed-loop recycling division. Coveris presented ReCover in December 2022. At the same time, the purchase of a mechanical recycling plant for post-consumer waste<\/strong> was announced. This is now operated under the name ReCover Blaenavon. These two ReCover locations allow the Optimise the recycling of industrial and post-consumer PE waste<\/strong> and thus come closer to its goal of creating a closed plastics cycle.\u00a0<\/p>
