Polypharmacy describes long-term therapy with several medications in parallel. In our ageing societies, this affects more and more people. However, complex medication plans do not always make it easy for patients, always take the right medicine at the right time.<\/strong> The Smart Blister Card from Schreiner MediPharm offers an innovative way of checking compliance with the medication regimen.

The Smart Blister Card enables digital monitoring of medication intake, as it is equipped with conductive tracks in combination with an electronic unit. As soon as the patient pushes tablets out of a cavity, data is automatically generated in real time<\/strong>, For example, the exact time of removal, the respective cavity and the dose contained therein. This data is stored in the Smart Blister Card and transferred to a database via a smartphone app or a reader using NFC or Bluetooth<\/strong>.

For doctors and pharmacists, handling the Smart Blister Card is both practical and flexible. After filling and sealing the blister packaging, the self-adhesive Smart Blister Card is simply attached to the back without interfering with the filling process. The technology can be integrated unobtrusively into the packaging design.<\/strong> The Smart Blister Card is suitable for almost all existing multi-dose and single-dose blister packs and can be adapted for the respective application. Thanks to the transparent film, the labelling of each cavity remains clearly visible. Optionally, the following can also be added Temperature monitoring for sensitive active ingredients<\/strong> be taken into account.

The patient can remove the tablets as usual, as the cavities remain easy to push through even with the Smart Blister Card. Smartphone apps can also help patients with digital self-monitoring<\/strong> and even enable a reminder function to ensure compliance with the medication schedule. The Smart Blister Card from Schreiner MediPharm thus helps to reduce the risks of polypharmacy and increase the success of treatment.<\/p>
