SMC and Yaskawa have been working together for several years and have now strengthened their cooperation. SMC has connected exclusive solutions such as \u201eend-of-arm tools\u201c to the Academy with robots and cobots from Yaskawa.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

SMC<\/a> and Yaskawa Europe<\/a>\u00a0have further intensified their cooperation: Thus Five collaborative robots in Yaskawa Europe's new Academy in Hattersheim exclusively with \u201eEnd-of-Arm Tools\u201c (EoAT)<\/strong> equipped by SMC. The \u201estudents\u201c of the Robot Academy will therefore be able to work on vacuum units, pneumatic parallel grippers and magnetic grippers as well as sponge suction cups from SMC<\/strong>. The simple design and easy operation of this EOAT not only simplify handling, safety and performance, but also make it the ideal training tool for future operators in combination with Yaskawa's robots and cobots.<\/p>

The ZXP-X1 series vacuum gripper, for example, offers high performance thanks to its max. payload of 7 kg, max. suction volume flow of 17 l\/min (ANR) and max. vacuum of -84 kPa. Simple connection of the compressed air supply line as well as the electrical wiring by means of a plug-in connection and plug-and-play configuration, ready for immediate use<\/strong>. The parallel gripper of the JMHZ2 series and the magnetic gripper of the MHM series also require only a short installation time thanks to their plug-and-play capability and can therefore be put into operation quickly.<\/p>

Especially the The prototype of the ZP2-200120A-X2245 series sponge vacuum cleaner, installed for the first time, makes it easier to pick up uneven workpieces<\/strong>. This is combined with the ZK2 series vacuum unit, which can reduce air consumption by up to 93 per cent thanks to a digital vacuum sensor with energy-saving function. The miniature solenoid valve island series VV061 is a solution for end-of-arm tool (EoAT) applications thanks to its lightweight and compact design and small plug-in connections, as it hardly affects the robot payload. It controls the parallel gripper of the JMHZ2 series and could also operate 7 other moulds through the narrow hollow spindle of the new Yaskawa SCARA series robots.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The SMC robotics groups and Yaskawa Robotics have been working closely together since 2018 - and since SMC is an official technology partner of Yaskawa Robotics in 2020<\/strong> and supplier from the Yaskawa Robotics Ecosystem. This constellation enabled the most diverse EoAT robotics solutions from valves to grippers have been customised to the requirements of robots and cobots in recent years<\/strong> become. When initially considering an application, the sequence and design of the combination of workpiece, EoAT and robot or cobot plays a decisive role. Because this is the only way to succeed, Harmonising performance, energy consumption, safety and handling<\/strong> and work out a solution.<\/p>

This also applies to operator training at the Yaskawa Academy: the EoAT make it easier for the technicians at the cobots to learn how to install the robot tools and how to handle collaborative robots correctly<\/strong>. Not only is the installation a breeze. The subsequent operation is also intuitive, which means that learning success is achieved quickly. This basis favours technicians, to open up new application potential with the help of cobots<\/strong> and ultimately improve productivity and efficiency in your own company. Thanks to the combination of SMC EoAT and the Yaskawa cobots, the Yaskawa Academy in Hattersheim offers a \u201etraining environment de luxe\u201c.<\/p>
