A new stack mould developed for the time-, material- and energy-saving injection moulding of thin-walled, ecologically optimised packaging could become a visitor magnet there. The patent-pending solution, which will soon be available on the market, is equipped with nozzles from the new Xd series from Oerlikon<\/a> HRSflow equipped. This enables hhigh filling pressures for cost-efficient production with consistently high quality<\/strong>, The stack principle supports the use of smaller injection moulding machines.<\/p>

Thanks to plug-and-play installation, assembly and maintenance are simplified and highly efficient. This helps to avoid long and costly downtimes. The new solution is also suitable for Processing of PCR plastics and sustainable compounds that meet the requirements of the circular economy<\/strong> correspond. The demo tool equipped with this is available to customers to demonstrate the use of demanding polymers for thin-walled packaging<\/strong> to test. Also available in the Oerlikon HRSflow test laboratory is a hybrid, high-speed e-Speed 280 injection moulding machine from ENGEL, primarily for the Processing of R-PET, bio-based and compostable polymers<\/strong> in accordance with the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).<\/p>

The presentation of a multi-cavity system for the simultaneous, productive manufacture of 72 closures underlines Oerlikon HRSflow's expertise and know-how in the field of caps & closures. Equipped with the new Vf nozzle series, this system enables Short cycle times of 2.2 s to 3.5 s with simultaneously optimised process reliability<\/strong> through precise control and optimum balancing of the filling process.<\/p>

This technical solution is for Closures for bottles with carbonated and non-carbonated beverages and for liquid and powdered concentrates<\/strong> equally suitable. It makes it possible to meet the requirements of the new European Single-Use Plastics Directive, which stipulates the use of tethered closures for all beverage containers with a capacity of up to three litres.<\/p>
