In view of the forthcoming European regulations obliging beverage producers to adopt a circular economy, Sidel has developed a special PET bottle for carbonated beverages that is designed for long-term reuse.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In accordance with the European regulation on packaging and packaging waste, the focus is on creating a Circular economy in which reusable bottles take centre stage<\/strong>. With the goal of 25 per cent of bottles being reusable by 2040, the demand for reusable packaging and corresponding production lines using a food-safe bottle-to-bottle process is increasing.<\/p>

PET is the material of choice for packaging manufacturers who want to introduce reusable bottles. The use of PET contributes to this, reduce the weight of the bottles<\/strong> and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>

The reusable packaging has been designed to last a long time and consumers can return the bottles via a deposit system. The new bottle is Suitable for up to 25 cycles<\/strong>.<\/p>

In combination with a special blow moulding process, the preforms and the structural design of the bottle are able to, withstand high washing temperatures<\/strong>. The bottle also has a reinforced neck, which guarantees the best quality throughout all washing and filling cycles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The new drinks packaging is available in various bottle formats and offers weight reduction options. The 1.5-litre bottle, for example, weighs just 77 grams<\/strong> and offers high performance with a weight saving of 28 per cent compared to the market average. At the end of its useful life, the reusable bottle can be recycled into a new bottle.<\/p>

Sidel has been a leader in PET bottle blow moulding equipment for more than forty years and offers specialised solutions to help beverage producers make the switch to returnable bottles. The EvoBlow eHR series, for example, enables high reheatability of preforms<\/strong> and blowing bottles into hot moulds. The result is increased bottle output and an output of up to 1,300 bottles per hour.<\/p>
