The reusable plastic cup SuperCup from Berry Global is helping the organisers of this year's Rugby World Cup in France to comply with the ban on disposable plastic cups. Together with InfinyCup, Berry is supplying the stadiums in Bordeaux and Lille with the reusable drinking cups.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

InfinyCup, a family business that specialises in reusable tableware for large events, should a solution for the Rugby World Cup<\/strong> present. For this event, the company teamed up with Berry Global and Stratus, a manufacturer of in-mould labelling. Together they developed a customised version of the reusable Berry SuperCup plastic cup<\/strong>.<\/p>

The SuperCup is at least 30 per cent lighter<\/strong> than conventional reusable plastic beer cups available on the market. At the same time, the cups are exceptionally robust and durable. As the SuperCup Made from recyclable polypropylene (PP)<\/strong> is made from recycled aluminium, it not only promotes reuse, but also enables easy recycling at the end of its useful life, provided the appropriate systems are in place.<\/p>

All reusable drinking cups from the SuperCup range are dishwasher-safe and therefore easy to clean. Even after repeated use, they retain their high quality and pleasant feel. The cups are also designed for efficiency and have an inner stacking edge<\/strong>, which enables the cups to be stacked neatly.<\/p>

The mugs are printed with the official logo of the Rugby World Cup, which makes them very popular with fans.<\/p>

\u201eThe SuperCup drinking cups are intended for practical use during the tournament, but now they have also become a collector's item for the rugby fans in attendance. Many of them take the cups home with them as a souvenir. Others take the opportunity to return them to the stadium and redeem their deposit. In this case, the cups are washed and ready for the next game.\u201c<\/p>

The successful partnership between InfinyCup and Berry at the Rugby World Cup shows howow the event and catering industry can proactively switch from disposable packaging to reusable plastic cups<\/strong>. By using lightweight, reusable solutions, companies can reduce their consumption of new materials and comply with legislation on disposable packaging.<\/p>

The close cooperation between the two companies was also evident in the the speed with which the project was completed<\/strong>InfinyCup received the signed contract for the supply of cups for the event in April, just four months before the start of the tournament in early September. \u201eWe needed a partner who was able to customise the cups quickly and produce them in large quantities. Berry was the perfect choice,\u201c says Bruno Marconnet.<\/p>
