Patent holder Syntegon Technology GmbH recently transferred the exclusive rights for the process to Herrmann Ultraschall. The aim is to bring the process to market maturity and establish it in the packaging industry.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-10f8dc2 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"10f8dc2\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ac681dc exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ac681dc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In order to reliably bond uncoated paper, additional resources in the form of potentially environmentally harmful adhesives or staples have always been required. <strong>In future, paper can be bonded much more sustainably using ultrasound alone.<\/strong> What has been successfully confirmed under laboratory conditions is now to be<strong> established on an industrial scale for the first time<\/strong> will be realised. To this end, Herrmann Ultraschall will test the innovative process on applications together with customers in its state-of-the-art ultrasonic laboratories and thus further optimise it.<\/p><blockquote><p>\u201ePreviously, we needed at least a small amount of plastic in the material in order to ultrasonically seal paper - we can now do without this completely. This opens up completely new possibilities for the environmentally friendly design of packaging. This is a major milestone on the way to a functioning circular economy. The frictional heat generated between the materials vaporises the applied moisture during the process without damaging the paper. This creates a high-strength and visually perfect bond within a very short time.<\/p><p>The areas of application for ultrasonic welding of paper are diverse: from primary packaging such as fruit trays made of thin cardboard to secondary packaging in the form of paper bags. The big advantage for companies is <strong>In addition to the savings in joining agents, the main benefits are low energy consumption, fast process times and extremely low wear on the welding
