The Italian food company Saila has been producing confectionery in its historic factory in Silvi Marina, Teramo, for 80 years. Today, the company's mission is to monitor the entire production line - from manufacture to delivery - in such a way that quality is guaranteed at every step.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In order to guarantee high quality standards right from the initial production phases, Saila decided to install a metal detector directly after the compression phase<\/strong> - before the final packaging of the product. At this point Minebea Intec<\/a> came into play with the development of a solution for inspecting loose sweets. In the first step, its realisation enabled reliable testing and safe detection of metallic foreign bodies in the confectionery, thus ensuring high product quality. The new compact metal detector was integrated into an existing production line and already detects the following during the first production steps even the smallest metallic impurities<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Saila placed its trust in its partner Minebea Intec and commissioned Further control and inspection solutions for the entire production line<\/strong>, which now monitor the production process at the Silvi Marina plant right through to the end. Several combined models of the CoSynus series, which consists of checkweighers and metal detectors, have been installed in the factory and check the pre-packed products for compliance with national legal requirements.<\/p>

The checkweighers are connected to the SPC-Enterprise data acquisition software, which Real-time testing during ongoing production<\/strong> minimise downtime and improve production output. In addition, a final check is carried out using an Essentus checkweigher to ensure that all packs and boxes leaving the factory contain the correct quantities of confectionery.<\/p>
