During the test series, liquefied plastic waste was processed into high-quality raw materials for the production of new plastic.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d931f58 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"d931f58\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c36124c exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c36124c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As part of its efforts to expand chemical recycling, Neste has successfully completed a further series of tests for processing liquefied plastic waste at its refinery in Porvoo (Finland).<\/p><p>The test runs carried out in the second half of 2023 doubled the total volume of <a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?s=Neste\">Nests<\/a><strong> processed liquefied plastic waste to more than 6,000 tonnes<\/strong>. In the largest test run of the year, more than 2,000 tonnes of liquefied plastic waste were processed for the first time. At the same time, these volumes are also a testament to the commitment of our partners, our suppliers and the industry as a whole: we are confident that chemical recycling will make a major contribution to the circular economy of plastics as a commercial process in the coming years.\u201c<\/p><p><strong>Heikki F\u00e4rkkil\u00e4<\/strong>, Vice President Chemical Recycling at Neste<\/p><\/blockquote><p>The current test runs utilise Neste's existing refinery facilities and pave the way for a <strong>continuous, commercial processing<\/strong>. A new plant is currently being built at the Neste refinery in Porvoo so that 150,000 tonnes of liquefied plastic waste can be processed per year in the future. This first phase of the PULSE project, which is subsidised by the EU Innovation Fund, is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025. Neste is investing 111 million euros in the project. Overall, PULSE is aiming for a total capacity of <strong>400,000 tonnes of liquefied plastic waste per year<\/strong> to.<\/p><p>Neste ensures the supply of liquefied plastic waste via various suppliers. The processing of liquefied plastic waste not only contributes to the general development of chemical recycling. It also helps Neste to turn the refinery in Porvoo into a <strong>Location for renewable and circular solutions<\/strong> as already announced today.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><div id=\"packa-1916202723\"
