Buckets, canisters, crates, drums and closures: Alpla has acquired the packaging specialist Fortiflex, based in Puerto Rico. The two companies have been producing packaging for the Caribbean and Central American markets together since 2017. The acquisition of Fortiflex strengthens Alpla's ALPLAindustrial division for large-volume packaging solutions, which was founded in 2023, and expands its offering as a full-service provider.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Alpla Group is stepping up the production of large-volume plastic packaging. The internationally active packaging and recycling specialist has acquired all shares in the packaging company Fortiflex, Inc. based in Puerto Rico. The two companies have been partners since 2017<\/strong> and produce buckets, lids, crates, tubs and other products at locations in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1975, Fortiflex is a packaging specialist with a Assortment of more than 700 products<\/strong> one of the leading manufacturers in Central America and the Caribbean.<\/p>

All 102 employees were taken over by Alpla. The Fortiflex plants supply major regional and international customers in the construction, chemical and food industries. Production and export capacities are being continuously expanded and now include not only Central America and the Caribbean, but also South and North America. In 2023, Alpla and Fortiflex installed a new production line for buckets in Costa Rica<\/strong>. Further investments are planned.<\/p>\n

The integration of Fortiflex into the Alpla Group, combined with the portfolio of the ALPLAindustrial brand founded in 2023 and the company's recycling expertise, creates added value for customers in the region. \u201eThe industrial container business has great potential<\/strong> and as a full-service provider, we also supply the closures and decorations,\u201c says Torres.<\/p>
