SIG introduces an aspetic filling system for stand-up pouches with closure. The filling system has integrated sterilisation technology, which eliminates the need for pre-sterilisation by third-party providers and reduces costs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new system has reached market maturity and was presented for the first time in discussions at the Anuga FoodTec<\/a> 2024 presented in Cologne. Christoph Wegener, Chief Markets Officer at SIG<\/a>, is enthusiastic about the system: \u201eSIG has a remarkable track record in developing cutting-edge technology for aseptic packaging. \u201eThis new filling system offers technological progress by transferring SIG's expertise in aseptic filling technology with in-line sterilisation, which has been used successfully for decades in the carton packaging sector, to stand-up pouches with closures. The breakthrough here is a new and unique type of in-line sterilisation of stand-up pouches, which ensures the even flow of the sterilising agent and the complete sealing of the packaging in the filling tunnel. As the stand-up pouches no longer need to be pre-sterilised, food manufacturers gain full control and flexibility over their production. This is an exciting time for SIG and an important step forward on our journey to enable brands to produce more nutritious and therefore better food. And we are very proud that we will soon be trialling the system with SIG's recyclable aseptic stand-up pouches. They will be a world first in our industry.\u201c<\/p>\n
