According to current plans, a state-of-the-art plant for the sustainable production of corrugated base paper with around 200 jobs is to go into operation on the Main by the end of the decade.

The selective dismantling of the Sappi plant will begin shortly and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The centrepiece will be one of the most modern and efficient paper machines in the world for the production of environmentally friendly and high-quality corrugated base paper. The new paper machine is designed to operate sustainably and energy-efficiently for the next 50 to 60 years. Progroup will only use waste paper as a raw material.

Expansion to a zero-waste site

There are also plans to replace the paper mill in future with a State-of-the-art waste-to-energy power plant to supplement this. Here, residual materials from the paper mill and other recycling processes in the region are converted into energy, thus supplying the mill with the required process heat and electricity. Progroup thus avoids tens of thousands of tonnes of CO₂ every year, sustainably utilises materials from recycling processes and at the same time meets the high standards of emission protection.

Source: Progroup

Progroup has taken over the Sappi Stockstadt GmbH site and is planning a state-of-the-art plant for the sustainable production of corrugated base paper with around 200 jobs.
Progroup hat das Gelände der Sappi Stockstadt GmbH übernommen und will ein hochmodernes Werk zur nachhaltigen Herstellung von Wellpappenrohpapier errichten.
