European Bioplastics has elected a new board and is now led for the first time by a dual leadership consisting of two co-chairs. Mariagiovanna Vetere and Franz Kraus were elected to the posts of the association, which represents the interests of the bioplastics industry in Europe, on 4 June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the next two years, the EUBP<\/a>-The new management team is led by the co-chairs Mariagiovanna Vetere (Natureworks) and Franz Kraus (Novamont) and supported by the new deputy chairperson Afsaneh Nabifar<\/a> (BASF). Andy Sweetman (Futamura), Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Van Gansberghe (Futerro), Myriam Moeyersons (Ingevity), Robert Mack (Kimberly-Clark), Jack McKeivor (TotalEnergies Corbion) and Erwin Lepoudre (Kaneka) are also members of the new board, with the latter acting as treasurer.<\/p>\n

\u201eThis year is a year of great change. Externally, the course for a more resilient and sustainable Europe will be set by a new Parliament, which will be elected this weekend, and a new Commission, which will take up its mandate this year. Internally, we will continue the reorganisation we started last year, with a new office in Brussels, a new team and a new corporate identity. We are at a crossroads and I look forward to leading the organisation in these exciting times, which offer both challenges and opportunities.\u201c<\/p>\n

Franz Kraus<\/strong>, Co-Chairman of European Bioplastics<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is the first time in the history of EUBP that a board has elected two co-chairs to lead the association. Mariagiovanna Vetere and Franz Kraus had already co-chaired EUBP in recent months.<\/p>
