On its sustainability journey, BASF Performance Materials is committed to achieving at least 20 per cent of sales in the circular economy by 2030 (through products that support the substitution of fossil-based raw materials with circular raw materials by at least 20 per cent).

BASF's biopolymer portfolio is already making an important contribution to this goal. It is the optimal solution for Certified compostable packaging and agricultural applications. Biopolymers help to close the biological cycle by reducing food waste, increasing organic recycling of organic waste, returning nutrients to the soil and preventing the accumulation of microplastics in agricultural soils.

BASF offers the packaging industry an opportunity to increase the use of renewable raw materials.
