This year's theme is \u201eSweets in the Box\u201c. Participants can look forward to attractive prize money totalling 28,000 euros.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Model Young Package (MYP) is organised by the Model Group. The company, headquartered in Weinfelden, Switzerland, is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of paper packaging and operates several innovation centres to promote creative approaches. This is where the idea for MYP was born and the first competition took place in 1996. Since then, the competition has supported the<strong> Exchange between young talents and industry professionals<\/strong> and combines inspiring designs with practice-orientated concepts.<\/p>\n<p>MYP is aimed at different age groups. Young participants can take part in the competition <strong>serve as a career springboard<\/strong> and established design professionals benefit from greater visibility in the industry. But model industry partners also benefit from the variety of fresh packaging ideas. Y\u00fccel Metin, MYP jury member, on the reasons for this year's \u201eSweets in the Box\u201c theme: \u201eThere are currently many new trends and flavour combinations. Different approaches to making fair and almost healthy sweets. In the <strong>Open Contest<\/strong> participants compete in the categories \u201eHigh School\u201c (for pupils aged 15 and over) and \u201eUnlimited\u201c (for university students and designers with no age limit). Everyone can choose between two briefings for confectionery packaging provided by Model. Based on the selected briefing <strong>a prototype with a detailed description<\/strong> be created. The description is then submitted online as a PDF document. The winners will be selected by a <strong>Jury of design and industry experts<\/strong> selected. The public will also be able to vote for a special prize.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Professional Challenge,<\/strong> the second round of the competition,<strong> the best designers of the Open Contest will compete against selected top designers<\/strong> and <strong>realise a real customer briefing from an industry partner of Model<\/strong>. Model selects the winners of the Professional Challenge together with the industry partner.
