Georg Pescher, Alpla Managing Director for Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, has been elected as the new President of the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e. V. (Industrial Association for Plastic Packaging).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Georg Pescher has been committed to the interests of the plastics packaging industry in the IK for many years - in particular in the PET Beverage Bottles forum.<\/strong> The technical health engineer has worked for the Alpla Group for 15 years, initially as plant manager for ten years and for almost five years as managing director for Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. As IK President, Georg Pescher wants to promote a fair public perception of sustainable plastic packaging and balanced regulation in the interests of climate protection and resource conservation.<\/p>\n

\u201eThe same rules for everyone must be the order of the day if European packaging regulation is to become a functioning component of the Green Deal and the EU internal market. Facts must count. The association and its 300 members can achieve a great deal by actively communicating, representing positions and, above all, opening their factory gates to politicians, the media and interested members of the public. The plastics packaging industry is a relevant factor in Germany as a business location and I want to help ensure that this remains the case in my new role.\u201c<\/p>\n

Georg Pescher replaces Roland Stra\u00dfburger in his new function<\/strong>, who held this office for six years. The baton has now been passed on at the IK General Meeting in Frankfurt\/Oberursel. Vice President Christian Claes<\/strong> (Profectus Films) and Treasurer Hans Bresele<\/strong> (allvac films) were confirmed for a further term of office. Dr Christoph Strubl<\/strong> was elected Vice President in 2022.<\/p>
