The Initiative nat\u00fcrliche Kreislaufwirtschaft e.V. (INAK) was founded in Berlin today (7 October). It is an association of companies, certifiers and waste disposal companies that emerged from the Verbund kompostierbare Produkte e.V. (Association of Compostable Products). The aim of the initiative is to promote sustainable product solutions and reduce the environmental impact of microplastics.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The focus is on biodegradable and compostable plastics in sensible areas of application.<\/p>

Peter Brunk, Chairman of the former Verbund kompostierbare Produkte e.V., emphasises the successes of recent years, in particular the establishment of certified compostable biowaste collection bags for the clean separate collection of organic waste. \u201eBy founding INAK, we are expanding our focus and concentrating on the role of biodegradable materials in a genuine circular economy,\u201c explains Brunk. The aim is not to lose valuable resources as waste, but to return them to the biological cycle - following nature's example.<\/p>

Biodegradable plastics offer a sensible alternative, especially in areas where recycling is not possible. These materials can be used, for example, in agriculture and forestry, in horticulture or for products that are released into the environment through abrasion. The renowned nova-Institute identified several areas of application in the BioSinn study, including mulch films, binding twine, bite protection and bristles for sweepers.<\/p>

Thanks to its scientific expertise and the numerous companies investing in research and development, Germany offers great potential for biodegradable products. However, Carmen Michels, future Chairwoman of INAK, emphasises that the market needs a legal framework that promotes new technologies. \u201eOur initiative aims to create an objective dialogue and promote an open-ended examination of the areas of application for biodegradable plastics,\u201c explains Michels.<\/p>

The establishment of INAK is intended to provide new impetus to promote natural cycles and reduce microplastics in the environment. Cooperation between science, industry and politics is to be further expanded in order to promote innovative and environmentally friendly solutions. The focus here is on the use of biodegradable plastics in order to reduce dependence on fossil raw materials and at the same time ensure the protection of the climate and the environment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
