By switching to paintless gearmotors, SEW-Eurodrive is taking an important step towards making its product portfolio more sustainable. The absence of paint reduces production costs during manufacture and facilitates the subsequent recycling of components in the circular economy at the end of the product life cycle. These geared motors are therefore a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution for many drive tasks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step by step, the The company<\/a> has converted the manufacturing process for its geared motors with gearboxes in the aluminium housing version and in conjunction with motors in sizes 56 to 90 to the paint-free Eco2 version as standard. The metallic surfaces of these drive components (motors, gearboxes and flanges) consist of Aluminium, which is not susceptible to corrosion under normal conditions<\/strong> is. In combination with oxygen, it even forms a thin protective layer.<\/p>\n

The elimination of the painting process and the resulting superfluous drying process reduces the energy required for coating. The production costs and at the same time reduce CO2<\/sub>-emissions<\/strong> by up to three per cent. The resulting cost benefits are passed on directly to the customer. In addition, the absence of painting makes the manufacturing process more sustainable. For indoor applications such as logistics halls, the drive components generally do not need to be painted.<\/p>
