For the first time, the European „Pro Carton Young Designers Award“ competition is also being organised for Germany.

The announcement of the additional German Design Award is made possible by the cooperation of the European Association of the Cartonboard Industry with the German Folding Carton Industry Association (FFI). German participants therefore have a double chance of winning. They automatically take part in the German and European „Young Designers Award“. Two juries will also decide on the awards.

Entries can be submitted in four categories until mid-May 2018. There are two categories for „Creative Cartonboard Packaging“ - one for food packaging made of cartonboard, the other for non-food packaging. The third category is called „Creative Cartonboard Ideas“. Here, participants are called upon to be creative in their use of cardboard beyond packaging. Finally, the „Save the planet“ category is all about packaging that conserves materials and resources as much as possible.

On the subject of „Resource-saving packaging“, which has been organised for more than 15 years Pro-Carton-competition and the „Better with less - Design Challenge“ organised by the Finnish carton manufacturer Metsä Board, which started last autumn and ended at the end of March.
